“The Supreme Court confirmed the execution of Ramin Hossein Panahi earlier this week ,” said Hossein Ahmadi Niaz, lawyer of Hossein Panahi. “He is going to be hanged at anytime.”

Amjad Hossein Panahi, brother of Ramin told Ava Today that “with confirming the death penalty of Ramin, Islamic Republic of Iran is organizing this crime as soon as possible. Ramin is a Kurdish political activist who has not killed anyone.”

Amjad Hossein Panahi added that Ramin’s death penalty is because “he (Ramin) was struggling to achieve the basic rights of people in Iranian Kurdistan. While the people of Iran are standing against this oppressive (Iranian) government, the Islamic government is trying to terrorize people by hanging a political activist.”

12 Iranian Human Rights organizations condemned the death Penalty of Hossein Panahi and asked international human rights organizations as well as the international community to intervene and stop the death penalty of Ramin Hossein Panahi.

Meanwhile social media users across Iran condemned the death penalty for Hossein Panahi and launched #RaminHosseinPanahi Hashtag.

Hossein Panahi was transferred to central prison of Sanandaj in Decemeer 2016 after spending six months in solitary and being prevented to be visited in jail by the Iranian intelligence Agency known as Etelaat.

He was sentenced to death by Iranian revolutionary Court in late December 2017.

Hossein Panahi was arrested in June 2016 while he was wounded.  Several days later his brother, Afshin, was captured, too.
