Iranian lawmakers implemented a new bill on Sunday, banning any direct or indirect advertisement of foreign products inside the country, IRNA reported.

“This morning, the lawmakers banned putting advertisement for foreign products in newspaper, on the state TV, on the walls, over the phone or cyber space and on the bulletin boards across the cities,” said the report.

Iran named the new Iranian year, begun on March 21, 2018, as a year to “support for Iranian product.”

The bill comes at a time when Iran is under harsh international sanctions since US withdraw from Iran nuclear deal, and people can hardly find western product inside Iranian markets.
