On February 11, 2026, Ali Nazarzadeh, a 26-year-old Kurdish citizen from Abdanan, Ilam Province, was arrested by forces of the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an unknown location.

According to received information, security forces arrested the Kurdish citizen in Abdanan without presenting a judicial warrant.

As of the time of publication, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his place of detention.

Previously, Avatoday, citing HRANA (Human Rights Activists News Agency), reported that Iranian authorities had arrested more than 50,000 people during the crackdown on nationwide protests, and that new arrests are still ongoing.

According to that report, published on February 3, 2026, HRANA stated that at least 50,235 individuals had been arrested in connection with the recent protests.

The report further notes that among the documented cases, there were 106 student arrests, 303 instances of forced confessions, and 11,046 summonses. It also recorded 666 protest incidents across 209 cities in all 31 provinces of Iran.
