The "Jira" bookstore, run by Jina Modarres Gurji, a former political prisoner and women's rights activist, has been closed by the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sanandaj, Kurdistan of Iran.

According to a report received by Avatoday, on Tuesday, April 16, the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sanandaj decided to close the Jira Library on the grounds of not observing the compulsory hijab.

Jina Modarres is a well-known civil activist in Sanandaj who has been summoned, arrested and charged several times by the intelligence and judicial institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran for her activities. Jina Moders has been released on bail.

Every year, with the beginning of the warm season, the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran begin another phase of repression against the Iranian nations and women under the pretext of implementing the compulsory hijab law.
