More than 300 musicians in Iran have issued a statement against the death sentence of Toomaj Salihi.

On Sunday, April 29, 2024, more than 300 Iranian musicians expressed their support for Toomaj Salehi in a statement.

Toomaj Salihi is a Iranian rapper who was sentenced to death only for singing songs against the Islamic Iran regime.

In the statement, they called Salihi the "cry of the legitimate demands of a generation in Iran" and called for the immediate abolition of his death sentence.

"The music community in Iran is in a terrible shock these days. The death sentence for this young artist on a false charge is an incredible and brutal act in the history of contemporary music in this country," the statement said.

The signatories of this statement called for the immediate release of Toomaj Salihi, Saman Yasin, Shaidai Hamedani, Aziz Qasemzadeh and all those imprisoned solely on charges of protesting.

"Let this oppressed people enjoy some peace," they said.
