Confidential sources revealed to Avatoday on Friday that a series of talks between Iranian delegation heading by the grandchild of Iranian Revolutionary Leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, and American officials were held in a hotel in Erbil, capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.

The source who talked to Avatoday on condition of anonymity, said a delegation of Saudi officials were residing in the same hotel before they have been moved to another one in order to be away from the place that the negotiation took place.

According to the reveled information, the Iranian delegation were consisted of Hassan Khomeini, grandchild of Ruhollah Khomeini, two of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Iraj Masjedi, Iran’s envoy to Iraq among others.

Avatoday could not achieve further details and the outcome of the negotiations.

Iran has reportedly been contacting Kurdish opposition parties based in Iraq, but according to the information received by Avatoday, these talks remain “useless.”

Earlier one of Kurdish opposition parties under the name of “The Iranian Communist Party” announced that some of the major Kurdish parties have been secretly meeting with the Iranian officials for the past two years under the monitoring of a Norwegian NGO.

The party declined to give further details or reveal the identity of the Norwegian organization monitoring the talks.
