On Tuesday, May 19, Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported that, by judicial order, the assets of 52 individuals in Zanjan Province had been confiscated on charges of alleged links to networks described as “collaborating with the enemy.”

Ali Faraji, Chief Justice of Zanjan Province, stated that the seized assets include bank and foreign-currency funds, movable and immovable property, as well as gold. According to him, the assets are intended to be used for the reconstruction of locations damaged during the war. He added that seven of the accused are currently in custody, while several others are residing abroad.

The measure comes amid a broader wave of judicial cases following the war. Previously, the judiciary spokesperson stated that under the law on intensified punishment for espionage and cooperation with Israel and hostile states, intelligence-related collaboration could result in asset confiscation and even the death penalty.

In recent weeks, the judiciary has also announced orders to seize the assets of dozens of individuals, including employees of Persian-language media outlets based outside Iran.
