Serbian police have arrested and torched several Kurdish asylum seekers in Belgrade airport in last two weeks, a Kurdish detainee talked to Avatoday on Wednesday.

“We are about 15 to 20 asylum seekers from Mahabad, Mariwan, Tehran and even some Afghans are among us. We are all detained in Belgrade airport,” Soran Mahmoudi, one of the detainees said. “Every day they (airport police) torch us with electric shockers and pepper spray.”

Mahmoudi added that several of the detained asylum seekers “faced heart attack due to the torches.”

Thousands of activists have left Iran and sought asylum in Europe, fearing Islamic Republic of Iran. The Islamic regime has been oppressing ethnic and religious minorities for decades.
