Avatoday received videos and pictures on Tuesday, indicating that people are helping each other to deal with continuous heavy floods in the absence of an efficient government.

Massive floods hit Northern as well as southern parts of Iran for days, leading to a serious national crisis. Data shows that 25 provinces throughout the country stuck in floods.

At least 17 people died and 74 more injured in the city of Shiraz on Monday, officials confirmed.

“Six men, seven women, three boys and one girl are dead,” said the provincial legal medicine department in Shiraz.

Three more died in Lorestan, Kermanshah and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.

Hundreds of houses and cars were destroyed and tens of livestock killed in the flooded areas.

Iranian government is highly criticized for its lack of ability to handle the flood crisis.

In a video received by Avatoday on Tuesday, people are carrying sandbags, trying to prevent the water.

In the city of Shiraz citizens left their doors open for hundreds of victims who had no shelter on Monday.
