With the beginning of the Kurdish New Year, Samko Nasrallahi and Jalal Khodamoradi, activists from Iran's Kurdistan, were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran just for preparing and holding the Nowruz ceremony.

According to the report received by Avatody, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, forces affiliated with the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran raided the personal home of Samko Nasrallahi, 35 years old and from Bukan, and arrested him and transferred him to an unknown place.

This civil activist was arrested only because he is one of the main organizers of the Nowruz ceremony in the "Qazlian" village of Bukan.

The Kurdish nation take advantage of Nowruz celebrations to express their disgust and protest against the Islamic Republic of Iran, that is why they hold Nowruz celebrations from Mako to Bakhtiari. Nowruz ceremonies in Kurdistan include lighting fire and Kurdish dance (called Halperky).

Also, Avatodi has been informed that on Friday, March 22, Jalal Khodamoradi, a civil activist from Sanandaj, was arrested by the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran in connection with the Nowruz ceremony.

With the holding of Nowruz ceremonies in the Kurdistan provinces of Iran, which are located along the Zagros mountain range, the arrest, torture, and summoning of Kurdish citizens will multiply.
