Farbod Hasanvand, a Kurdish political prisoner from “Masjed Soleiman” and one of the detainees of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising, who was re-arrested by intelligence agents during the 12-day conflict between the Islamic Republic and Israel and is currently being held in Masjed Soleiman Prison in Khuzestan Province, is facing a serious deterioration in his health condition.

According to information received by Avatoday, Hasanvand, who uses a prosthetic leg, has developed a severe infection in his leg following his transfer to prison.

According to a reliable source, despite his urgent need for medical treatment, he has been denied access to medical care outside the prison and refused transfer to a hospital.

This political prisoner had previously been arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement by intelligence forces and was charged with accusations such as “insulting sacred values” and “insulting the Supreme Leader.”

It is also reported that no clear information has been provided so far regarding his case file or which judicial branch is handling his charges.
The critical condition of Hasanvand has caused serious concern among human rights activists and his family.

The “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising, which began with the state killing of Jina (Mahsa) Amini in the city of Saqqez, faced its harshest crackdown in the Kurdish regions of Iran. According to human rights organizations, nearly 500 Kurds were killed by direct fire from security forces during the first year of protests in Iran's Kurdistan provinces, and more than 5,000 people were arrested or disappeared - including dozens of children and adolescents under the age of 18.
