On the afternoon of Monday, July 20, 2026, Iranian media outlets and social media users reported hearing explosions in the city of Shiraz.
Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that preliminary information indicated an airstrike on a location in the northwestern part of the city.
At the same time, Mehr News Agency, citing the head of West Azerbaijan Province's Crisis Management Organization, reported that a location near the Silvana district of Urmia had also been struck. According to the report, several people were injured and transferred to medical centers.
Mehr also reported an explosion in the city of Isfahan, although it stated that the exact cause and source of the blast had not been determined.
However, the Director General of Isfahan Province's Crisis Management Organization told ILNA that the explosion was caused by the detonation of unexploded ordnance left over from previous military operations.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Crisis Management in East Azerbaijan Province stated that one person was killed and several others were injured in an early Monday attack on a military site in the city of Tabriz.
Separately, following reports of explosions in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti military announced that it was responding to a new wave of Iranian missile and drone attacks.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said: "Kuwait's air defense systems are currently intercepting hostile missile and drone attacks."
During the latest round of hostilities between Iran and the United States, Iranian armed forces have repeatedly targeted Kuwait and Bahrain. Kuwaiti officials said that some civilian infrastructure had been damaged as a result of the attacks.
At the same time, the Civil Aviation Affairs of Bahrain announced that Iran had targeted the country's civil aviation navigation systems, but emphasized that aviation operations had continued without disruption.
The agency stated: "As a result of Iran's hostile action against the Kingdom of Bahrain, civilian air navigation systems responsible for the country's Flight Information Region were targeted by hostile drones. However, air navigation operations were not affected."
Bahraini aviation authorities added that commercial flights and air traffic continue to operate normally.
