The Iranian president’s office said the Islamic Republic warned the US in a letter against siding with Israeli Prime Minister, following the recent deadly strike on Iran's consulate in Damascus, Syria.

The raid killed at least seven top members of the US-designated terrorist group of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

The political deputy of the President’s Office, Mohammad Jamshidi, added that “Iran called on the US to get out of the way if it wants to not get hit,” local media reported.

The attack angered Iranian authorities including the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, who said Iran will plan an appropriate response to the aggression.

After Iran threatened to respond to the Israeli bombing of its embassy, Israel has put its forces and embassies in foreign countries on high alert and shut down several diplomatic missions.
