Kurdistan Security Forces arrested 30 terrorists in an unprecedented operation in the fight against terrorism. These terrorists belong to the Islamic extremist group or ISIS

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government Security Agency said in a statement: “On October 21, 2023, the Operations Directorate of the Kurdistan Regional Security Agency received information about the presence of two groups. The two groups received extremist ideas through social networks and planned to join the ranks of ISIS and become fighters of the terrorist group".

"They were placed under continuous surveillance for 20 days and then with the consent of the judge, 10 terrorists were arrested in Qaladze on December 15, two of them women," the Kurdistan Regional Security Agency said.

According to the statement, two days later, investigations were intensified and in a large-scale operation and several different operations in Ranya, Qaladze, Zharawa, Haji Awa, Skarta "20 other terrorists were arrested and brought to justice.

According to Middle Eastern political observers, ISIS was created by the Islamic Republic of Iran to destroy the Syria People's Revolution and destroy the Kurdistan Region or at least weaken it.

Political analysts believe that Iran also wanted to get on the pretext of the existence of ISIS, the legal opportunity to create another terrorist force such as Hashd al-Shaabi. Hashd al-Shaabi is now a terrorist but legal force in Iraq that has occupied half of Iraqi Kurdistan.
