The state-affiliated Israeli Cyber Unit successfully removed a website belonging to the Black Shadow Iranian hacking website after it targeted a number of Israeli websites, Walla reported on Thursday.

“The removal of the site means a significant reduction to expose personal materials publicized by Black Shadow, a hacking group affiliated with Iran that has operated against Israeli sites in the past two years,” said the report.

In a recent attempt, Black Shadow targeted the LGBTQ dating site Atraf, with attackers leaking names of users from the application.

Previously, the group also attacked an Israeli insurance company.

In December, an Iranian hacker group named Pay2Key claimed it breached the computer network of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

In the same month, Iranian hackers claimed to have carried out a cyberattack against Israel Aerospace Industries, an Israeli state-owned aircraft manufacturer.

Iranian hackers have targeted several other Israeli targets in the past.
