Iranian bases struck by unknown aircraft in Iraq near Syrian border late on Friday, The Times of Israel reported.

“The Shiite fighters in the Boukamal region responded with anti-aircraft fire, according to local media. There were no reported casualties,” the report explained.

There has been no report of casualties.

This is not the first time that a clash is reported in the area. Militias in that region have been hit by several airstrikes in recent weeks. Some sources blame Israel for the attacks, but the country did not officially claim the responsibility.

According to a report by Fox News published earlier, Iranian regime has built a new military base in Syria to house thousands of its troops inside.

The agency cited multiple Western intelligence sources, who said the new Iranian military base is called Imam Ali compound and is under the authorization of Iranian leadership back in Tehran.
