A top Iraqi official affiliated with Moqtada Sadder informed the local media of the presence of Iran’s Qassem Suleimani and his delegation to protect Tehran’s political and economic interest in neighboring Iraq.

The official, who spoke to the Media on condition of anonymity, talked about all the efforts have been conducted by Iranian officials to weaken Iraqi’s outlawed Prime Minister, Heider al Abadi and his fraction.

According to the source, Tehran is trying to shape a large and powerful pro-Iranian bloc in parliament.

“Iran has turned its embassy in Baghdad into the room for shaping new Iraqi government,” said the official.

The biggest problem for Iran is reportedly all the tensions that exist between Shiite fractions in Iraq, avoiding them from being united.

“They (Iran) is trying to make the Shiite united in Iraq, but their goal will not be reached easily,” explained the confidential source.
