Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will leave Tehran for Moscow on Wednesday for a visit at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Iranian media reported.

According to the reports, the trip is a part of the two countries’ plans to enhance the economic, political, and cultural relations.

During his two-day trip, Raisi will reportedly deliver a speech to the State Duma, will meet with Iranian nationals residing in Russia, and will hold talks with Russian economic activists.

The ministers of foreign affairs, oil, and economy will be accompanying the Iranian president on his first trip to Russia since taking office.

Russia, an ally of Tehran, has been supporting the Islamic Republic with their agendas during the international talks to revive a 2015 Iran nuclear deal that is taking place in Vienna.
