UK Foreign Minister, Jeremy Hunt announced on Saturday that Britain would facilitate the release of detained Iranian Grace 1 oil tanker, if Tehran guarantees it won’t go to Syria, Reuters reported.
Hunt also added that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had told him that Tehran wanted to resolve the issue and did not want to escalate the tension.
British Royal Marines seized an Iranian oil tanker in Gibraltar in early July for trying to take oil to Syria in violation of EU sanction.
