According to published reports and eyewitness testimonies, wounded protesters in various cities across Kurdistan and Iran have been subjected to execution-style killings by the military-terrorist forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Eyewitnesses stated that many injured protesters were deliberately executed while being transferred to hospitals by Iranian security and military forces.

In the city of Ilam, one of the cities of Iranian Kurdistan, eyewitness reports indicate that the terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), on Thursday and Friday, 8–9 January 2026, following the brutal suppression of Kurdish popular protests, carried out execution-style killings of more than 20 wounded protesters.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, confirmed in a press briefing that wounded protesters were killed after being shot again, stating that “even the injured were not spared and were finished off.”

On Monday, 12 January 2026, Iran Human Rights published a report stating that since the beginning of the new wave of anti-government protests in Iran, at least 648 protesters, including nine children, have been killed. According to the organization, thousands of others were injured during the violent repression of the protests.

The human rights organization also reported receiving unverified accounts of the killing of at least hundreds more, with some sources estimating the death toll at over 6,000 people. However, due to the complete internet shutdown imposed since Thursday night and severe restrictions on access to information, independent verification of these figures is currently facing serious obstacles.
