Iran Human Rights (IHR) reported on Thursday, 4 December 2025, that in the past month alone, at least 152 people — including 5 women, 4 Afghan nationals, one Iraqi national, 5 Baluch citizens, 7 Kurdish citizens and one Arab citizen — were executed in Iran.

The organization added that in the 11 months of the current year, at least 1,426 people have been executed, which represents a 70% increase compared with 836 executions in the same period last year.

Iran Human Rights once again stressed the urgent need for serious attention from the public and the international community regarding executions in Iran, and called for a strong reaction from Iranian and international cultural, political and civil figures to the ongoing wave of executions.

Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, director of Iran Human Rights, said: “The world must not become accustomed to the daily executions in Iran.”

He noted that in November, an average of five people were executed every day, adding:
“Despite this, no government — including those with diplomatic relations with Iran and who claim commitment to human rights — made any public reaction to this alarming trend.”

Amiry-Moghaddam emphasized: “These executions were rarely reflected even in global news cycles. This continued silence is extremely dangerous, because it leaves no limit to how far the leaders of the Islamic Republic might go in committing such crimes.”
