The Kurdish Autonomous Administration in northeastern Syria announced on Saturday that 17 civilians died and 24 more wounded since Thursday night’s ceasefire, which Turkey was blamed for breaking it.

“A number of 17 civilians were killed and 24 more wounded by Turkish artillery shelling during the ceasefire in north eastern Syria,” the administration said in a press conference.

“So far, more than 235 people lost their lives, including 22 children, and 677 injured since the Turkish military operation in northeastern Syria,” they added.

As US withdrew forces from Syrian Kurdistan, Turkey began its long-awaited operation plan against the Kurds in Syria. The International community failed to act against the Turkish government and the Kurds say that the world left them behind to be slaughtered by Ankara.

A ceasefire, as a part of Turkey and US agreement, failed as Ankara continued to attack Kurds in Syria.
