Human rights organizations have reported the killing of two Kurdish brothers and followers of the Yarsan faith, Mojtaba Veisi and Meysam Veisi, in Dalahoo County in Iran’s Kermanshah Province.

According to these reports, the two brothers were killed in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the village of Qaleh Kahush near Dalahoo, after forces affiliated with the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) raided their hideout and opened direct fire on them.

Reports indicate that Mojtaba and Meysam Veisi had been pursued by security agencies following the protests of January 2026 and had been living in hiding in recent months.

After the shooting, the bodies of the two brothers were reportedly transferred by IRGC forces and, as of the time of publication, had not been returned to their family.

Mojtaba and Meysam Veisi were described as cultural and civil activists as well as followers of the Yarsan faith. They were also among the founders of a library in the Dareh Derij district of Kermanshah.

Mojtaba Veisi was additionally known as a wrestler, musician, and painter. Kurdish human rights activists had previously reported that he was arrested in March 2025 and released on bail in April 2025.
